Key Takeaways
- CCIP extends ForeverMoney’s TAO route to Robinhood Chain.
- GMTrade uses Data Streams for commodity perpetuals.
- Commodity perps do not provide physical ownership.
- Robinhood app support for TAO remains unconfirmed.
- Liquidity and off-hours trading are the next tests.
One Announcement, Two Different Types of Infrastructure
The two integrations are connected by Chainlink’s infrastructure, but they address different constraints in onchain markets. Chainlink’s announcement says ForeverMoney is using its Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol, or CCIP, to extend a 1:1 TAO route to Robinhood Chain. GMTrade, meanwhile, is using Chainlink Data Streams for commodity perpetual markets.
ForeverMoney is addressing asset access: giving Bittensor’s TAO a route to another blockchain. GMTrade is addressing market operation: supplying a leveraged onchain market with price and market-status data while users trade.
ForeverMoney + CCIP
A route for TAO
What users can do: Move a 1:1 TAO representation to Robinhood Chain.
What users should not assume: TAO is available through Robinhood’s retail brokerage app or already has deep onchain liquidity.
GMTrade + Data Streams
A market for synthetic exposure
What users can do: Trade commodity-linked perpetual contracts on an always-open venue.
What users should not assume: They own physical commodities or that underlying markets always provide fresh prices.
TAO Reaches Robinhood Chain Through a Bridge
Chainlink described ForeverMoney’s expansion as bringing “1:1 native TAO” to Robinhood Chain. In practice, the integration gives users a 1:1 TAO representation through ForeverMoney’s bridging system. Its application displays TAO routes and liquidity pools on Robinhood Chain, with CCIP named as the cross-chain infrastructure.

The integration does not confirm that TAO can be bought through Robinhood’s consumer trading app. It gives users of Robinhood Chain and ForeverMoney’s application another route for moving or using TAO in an Ethereum-compatible environment.
Robinhood Chain already supports several bridging routes, including CCIP, according to its developer documentation. ForeverMoney’s addition expands the assets that can use existing cross-chain rails rather than introducing Chainlink to the network for the first time.
The key issue is whether that route becomes usable at scale. Robinhood Chain’s early transaction growth showed that the network can attract broad crypto activity, but transaction counts do not show whether a bridged asset has enough liquidity for trading, lending or use as collateral.
A Commodity Perpetual Needs More Than a Live Price
GMTrade describes its RWA products as leveraged markets that provide synthetic exposure to equities, foreign exchange and commodities rather than ownership of the referenced assets. Its commodity perpetuals can remain available around the clock because the venue operates onchain.
That does not mean the underlying markets never close. Gold, silver and oil can have limited trading hours, thinner liquidity or a halt in price discovery. During those periods, a perpetual market needs to distinguish between a current reference price and a price that no longer reflects active underlying trading.
Chainlink Data Streams can provide price and market-status inputs for such markets. GMTrade’s own contracts and risk rules, however, determine how trading, pricing and liquidations are handled when the reference market is closed or data is stale.
More Trading Hours Also Mean Different Risks
Continuous access can help traders respond to news outside conventional market hours. It can also leave positions exposed when the underlying commodity market reopens at a materially different price. A perpetual market can stay open during a closure, but it cannot create fresh price discovery in the underlying commodity market.
Oracle data can reduce the risk of acting on an outdated reference price. It cannot remove basis risk, thin liquidity, funding costs or liquidation risk. The quality of GMTrade’s commodity market will depend on how its safeguards and liquidity hold up during those harder periods, not simply on whether contracts can trade on a Sunday.
The Numbers That Would Make These Integrations Matter
Neither announcement provides the figures needed to judge adoption. For ForeverMoney, the useful measures are TAO bridge balances, pool depth, transfer frequency and the cost of entering or exiting the asset on Robinhood Chain. For GMTrade, the key figures are volume, open interest, available liquidity and execution quality when traditional commodity markets are unavailable.
The integrations become commercially meaningful only if they produce usable TAO liquidity on Robinhood Chain and orderly commodity-perpetual trading when traditional markets are unavailable. Until those numbers emerge, the announcements describe new technical routes, not yet proven markets.
