El Salvador is the first country in the world which adopt Bitcoin as a legal tender in Sep 2021. This country currently holds 2,856 BTC as a country’s reserve fund. Bukele faced huge criticism multiple times from multiple figures for El Salvador’s Bitcoin adoption policy but every time he blindly ignored the haters.
US Senator Menendez was one of the famous critics of El Salvador’s Bitcoin policy and many times he called Bitcoin a corruption tool for the country’s bad actors.
A new 18-count indictment has been filed against Senator Menendez and his wife, Nadine Menendez. The charges accuse them of conspiring to obstruct justice and conceal bribe payments previously alleged against the senator.
In this case, the investigators seized $100,000 in gold bars and $480,000 in hidden cash from the senator’s home.

Prosecutors found that they instructed their representative lawyers to tell investigators that certain payments made on behalf of Nadine were in loans, knowingly disguising the bribes.
Allegedly this US Senator received many gift items, including luxury watches and gold bars, in exchange for helping Uribe and the governments of Egypt and Qatar.
Notebely Bukele only responded with a laughing emoji and passed no comments, probably it is because so far Menendez has not been found guilty of any of the charges and the trial is scheduled for May.
