It is worth noting that he failed to talk about Bitcoin or related terms, but in particular, he mentioned the capital tax, which was opposed by the majority of Americans over the past couple of years.
However, these public statements by Trump are giving better hope to the US population that the economic future of America is bright enough under his presidency, but the crypto community remained sceptical with this announcement, as no statement came regarding cryptocurrencies.
Some crypto enthusiasts noted that Trump here indirectly talked about Cryptocurrencies. Already in Q4 2024, Trump supported Bitcoin & said that he didn’t like the way people pay for Cryptocurrency investment tax and praised Bitcoin as a payment tool.
At the time, Trump said, “Bitcoin is money, and you have to pay capital gains tax if you use it to buy a coffee?” calling such a tax system bad for this innovative sector. He also added, “Maybe we get rid of taxes on crypto and replace it with tariffs”.
If we look at Trump’s past statement on the Bitcoin taxation system, which was against the tax on capital investment return, & latest statement on the new tax system, then we will find that Trump already confirmed his ProCrypto decision for Bitcoin investors.
So here we can say we should keep hope with Trump & also consider that the new president of the USA is going to bring not only better rules for the crypto space but also a better environment so that this sector can evolve with a better level of maturity.
