The networks affected include Omni Layer, EOS, Algorand, Bitcoin Cash SLP, and Kusama. Token redemptions and transfers will be halted by September 1, giving users time to migrate their funds.
The move finalizes a phase-out process that began last year, when Tether partially paused activity on several of these chains. Despite offering to resume support if usage rebounded, interest remained low.
CEO Paolo Ardoino described the decision as part of a broader plan to prioritize scalability, developer activity, and community engagement. With many of the deprecated chains now considered outdated, Tether is doubling down on infrastructure that reflects the current landscape of digital assets.
