The Ethereum Co-founder donated 99 Ethereum (ETH) to help the victims of recent earthquakes in Turkey & Syria. 

Vitalik Buterin is co-founder of the Ethereum blockchain, a second-ranked crypto project in terms of 24 hours trade volume of its native coin ETH. Vitalik is a Russian-Canadian computer programmer who jumped into the crypto sector as a co-founder of the Bitcoin news media platform “Bitcoin Magazine” later he shifted his interest to a new blockchain protocol, and finally with the help of 5 other developers he launched the Ethereum blockchain. 

Recently Ethereum co-founder sent 99 Bitcoins to the Ahbap Earthquake Support to help with the recent disaster in Turkey and Syria. 

Turkey & Crypto donation

A popular Turkish singer Haluk Levent received regulatory approval from the Turkish financial regulatory body to receive crypto donations to help the country. 

Many reports noted that accepting crypto donations directly by the Turkish authorities was against Turkey’s crypto laws but still the Country allowed Haluk to collect donations amid this critical situation. 

Crypto donation & Tornado Cash

In 2022, during the Russia vs Ukraine conflict, many people donated crypto assets to the Ukraine government directly despite accepting crypto assets as a donation directly was against the Ukraine’s laws. 

In the same year, The US OFCA agency imposed a ban on popular crypto-mixing platform Tornado Cash. The US authorities noted that Tornado was a helpful tool for the bad actors to process illegal fund transactions. 

Ethereum co-founder Vitalik opposed the Tornado Cash ban decision and said that it was a neutral tool to gain privacy in crypto financial activities.
